I have thought about this for months going back and forth on whether or not I should increase the prices for my manual therapy services.  Why would I do such a thing?  I have been practicing massage therapy since 2001.  Did you know that manual therapists learn most of their skills and specialties in the ongoing continuing education?  In the state of NH, I am required to take 12 continuing education units every two years, which translates into 12 hours.  For my National Board Certification it is roughly the same amount, but I also need to have 2 credits in Research and 2 in ethics, and keep my CPR and First Aid up-to-date.

I take at least 45 CEU’s per year.  Why?  Because the more I know, the more I realize I don’t know.  Our bodies are complex systems that I have learned need skilled, gentle hands to help create longer lasting change in the body, which is why my specialties are Craniosacral Therapy and Lymph Drainage Therapy.  I have been practicing Craniosacral Therapy for 16+ years and I am a teaching assistant for the Upledger Institute.  If you are interested in the classes I have taken, you can click here to see my credentials in this modality.

I developed a passion for Lymph Drainage Therapy about 6 years ago.  I find it to be the most amazing therapy I have ever learned because it is a gentle touch and has profound results.  Click here for my credentials and to read class descriptions if you are interested.

I also became a STOTT PILATES instructor 2 years ago and I primarily did this so I could share the knowledge with my clients and help them become more aware of their bodies and have a sense of empowerment when working out or performing daily activities.  For info on STOTT PILATES training and what it entails, click here.

All of these trainings I do require a lot of money and time away from work.  Which is worth it because I do my best to provide my clients with not only my education, but my presence and ability to listen and come up with the best plan of action.

I know this may be hard for some people with the new rates.  I know that I will most likely lose some clients, but my hope is that the people who really need my work and can afford it will make there way to my beautiful space.  Please feel free to comment or get in touch with me directly.  I would be happy to help you find a therapist in the area.  I care about each and every one of you so much!
